Endoplasmic Reticulum

ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM

The (ER) is a membrane surrounded channel which starts at the nuclear membrane and branches throughout the cytoplasm. It serves as a passageway for materials to go from outside the cell to the nucleus without being changed by the enzymes and chemicals in the cytoplasm. They are responsible for packaging up proteins that the cell secretes and the making of fats.
